Pantah "Ice"

The 1981 Pantah “Ice” represents one of the most unique episodes in Ducati history. Nothing more than a modified Pantah 500, the bike had unusual, studded tyres and did away with the braking system, so that it could be used on frozen tracks. A very unusual usage, far from traditional racing. During a championship run on frozen Alpine tracks, the Pantah “Ice” bikes were used in a performance display between one car race and the next. Brightly coloured and surprising, they guaranteed an unforgettable show for the crowd. One of these bikes, complete with yellow graphics and blue band, was displayed for years in the Ducati Museum in Borgo Panigale.

Livery

The DesertX 100 livery directly recalls the 1981 Pantah “Ice”, reinterpreting one of the most unusual bikes ever built by Ducati. It is a visual tribute to the bike that was displayed in the Ducati Museum for many years, transformed into a modern-day source of inspiration. The colours and graphic accents evoke the idea of non-conformity and experimentation, creating a dialogue with the functional, modern forms of DesertX. The livery does not celebrate a victory, but an idea: that of a Ducati that can break the mould and transfer its heredity to unexpected and unusual contexts.
